Yumiko (California U.S.A) SAMA✨ Good mornevening, Yuming !🌅🌃 "Sweet potato vine" refers to the trailing or climbing stems🌿 of the sweet potato plant, rather than the underground tuberous roots🍠. 🤗 It specifically refers to the long, creeping stems and leaves that spread above ground.🪴😄👨🌾💦 Sweet potatoes🍠 are also used to make an alcoholic drink🥃 called shochu. Mori-izo(森伊蔵), my favorite shochu, is made from them.😋😄👌 I posted photos of sweet potatoes—the tubers🍠, leaves🌿, and stems—on GS on October 13th last year.😊👨🌾 Sweet potatoes were called "Jusan-ri" (meaning "13 miles") in the Edo period. This name comes from a clever play on words:"Kuri (9 miles) + Yori (4 miles) = Uma-i Jusan-ri (Delicious 13 miles)".🤔たし算です。 In Japanese, this sounds like:"Kuri yori umai" (Better than chestnuts).Since chestnuts were called "9 miles" (Kuri), and "plus 4 miles" (Yori) makes 13, the nickname "13 miles" was used to boast that sweet potatoes were even tastier than chestnuts.🌰😋😄 Hoitara-ne.🌞✌️
@デュランサ Good morning! 🌞 Thank you for a message. This flower came from my friend’s house. She called~ ‘it’s the time. Come on!’ 👍 Flower friendship here, I have. lovely Have a nice day!
@太陽の塔 Thank you for a message. awesome You said “Morizo”/Kagoshima 😋I wish I could enjoy this one with U. Life is still~ going on. Let’s go for to see the nice flowers. 😊
Good morning. ☺️✨ Those flowers were a gift from a friend, right? It's so sweet to receive them from a fellow flower lover! They must have seen the perfect timing to contact you, Yumi. 🐰💗
@Yumiko (California U.S.A) SAMA✨ Thank Yuming for your prompt reply !😄👌 Morizo(モリゾー) is a "forest elf" (or forest spirit) 💚🧚and the official mascot character of the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi(愛知), Japan (also known as EXPO 2005 AICHI(愛•地球), JAPAN).🌏🤭 On the other hand, Mori-izo(森伊蔵) is a brand of sweet potato shochu from Kagoshima.🍶🥃😋👌 The brewery's retail price is ¥3,170 (tax included) for 1.8 liters (one sho: 1升), and the department store list price is ¥4,433 (tax included).😳⤴️ Mori-izo is highly priced due to a severe supply shortage caused by "ultra-small-scale production" and, its high quality, resulting from traditional "kame-tsubo: 甕-壺" (clay pot) fermentation, has created fervent popularity. So it is called "phantom shochu" (maboroshi no shochu: 幻の焼酎) ✈️😄🤗🥃💸 Hoitara-ne.🌞✌️
