Yumiko(California U.S.A) SAMA✨ Good mornevening ! 🌅🌃 Chaenomeles(Boke) are red flowers that are suitable for early spring.🌺🌿😊😄 I posted the photos of Chaenomeles(Boke) on GS on February 18th last year.📸👌 Chaenomeles are native to China🇨🇳, the flowers came to Japan🇯🇵 during the early Heian period.⛩️🤴🫅 At that time, there were no Hiragana(ひら仮名) in Japan, so the flower name was introduced in Kanji(漢字) from China.🤔 The cross section of the fruit resembled a melon(瓜)🍈 that grows into a tree(木).🌳🧐 The sound reading for 木瓜(Mokkou) became Moke.
