Nice to write to you, first. Sorry to say that the photo is not the plant called "HOTOKENOZA of HARU NO NANAKUSA". This is not recommended for food. The name that we eat as one of NANAKUSA is "KO'ONITABIRAKO". It was called "HOTOKENOZA" in old times. Unlike the weed HOTOKENOZA, it is a member of the Asteraceae family with yellow flowers. The reason "KO'ONITABIRAKO" is called HOTOKENOZA is because its rhizomatous leaves, spread out on the ground, resemble the pedestal of a Buddha. Both names are derived from their appearance, so be careful not to confuse them.
